The Department of Research, Counseling, and Curriculum (RCC) in the College of Education and Human Development (COEHD) at Augusta University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Educational Studies/ Educational Research. The position is intended to be filled at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor - consideration for outstanding candidates for the ranks of Associate Professor or Professor is preferred. This position emphasizes innovative and engaging teaching, research/scholarly activities, fostering community within the classroom, and promoting student success. The position requires the candidate to engage in department, college, and university service. Responsibilities
Teaching- 60%
Developing and teaching introductory and advanced, graduate-level courses in education. Candidates should be prepared to deliver courses online (asynchronous and synchronous), hybrid, and face-to-face, with a strong preference for candidates who are prepared to teach in asynchronous formats. With primary responsibilities focused on graduate-level courses, the successful candidate should also be prepared to teach topics as needed in both the Ed.D. and Ed.S. programs while mentoring our in-service K-12, higher education, and community educators.
Research- 30%
Conducting and supervising scholarly activities.
Service- 10%
Provide service to the college, the university, the community, and the profession.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must have 1) earned doctorate from an accredited university in Education, Educational Research, Educational Foundations, Education Policy; and 2) demonstrated the capacity for a robust research agenda with the potential for sustaining a national and/or international reputation. Candidates will possess a research record that demonstrates potential for obtaining external research funding.
Assistant Professor- Early level career as a faculty member
Associate Professor- Mid level career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.
Professor- Senior level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable training, background, and experience. Per Board of Regents (BOR) policy, Professors must have a terminal degree.
Required faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions shall be:
  • Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)'s requirements for institutional accreditation;
  • Evidence of ability as a teacher;
  • Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned;
  • Successful experience (which will necessarily be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements); and,
  • Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications
Preferences will be given to candidates with expertise in an identified substantive area of interest (e.g., program evaluation, educational psychology, educational policy studies, educational studies and research, higher education, educational leadership), K-12 teaching experience, teaching experience at the college-level (graduate-level experience preferred), experience engaging in research in P-20 settings, and a demonstrated ability to collaborate with faculty and to mentor students.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
This position is academic year based and typically works August through May, depending on dates outlined in offer letter and yearly contract.
The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0.
Assistant Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.
Associate Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.
Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.
