We have an exciting opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner, Hematology and Oncology to join our ambulatory center at City of Hope, Orange County Lennar Foundation Cancer Center. We are expanding patient care and are looking for a nurse practitioner to work full-time in the infusion clinic. The nurse practitioner will perform comprehensive physical examinations and expert review of lab results for early identification of complications of cancer or chemotherapy. Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities to support comfort and health of the patients. Establish and customize workflows for relevant procedures with other key stakeholders and providers.

The work schedule is 4/10 hour shifts

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Your primary responsibility is to deliver advanced nursing care to patients diagnosed with blood disorders and/or cancer.
  • Patient Assessment: Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with hematological or oncological conditions, including reviewing medical histories, performing physical exams, and interpreting diagnostic tests such as blood work, imaging, and biopsies.
  • Symptom Management: Assist patients in managing the symptoms and side effects of their condition and treatments. Provide education on pain management, nutrition, and coping strategies.
  • Diagnosis and Treatment: Collaboration with physicians and other interdisciplinary team members to establish and develop personalized treatment plans. Administer hydration, immunotherapy, or blood transfusions, as needed.
  • Monitoring: Continuously monitor patient’s progress throughout their treatment journey, adjusting care plans, as necessary. Track and record vital signs, lab results, and treatment responses.

Your qualifications should include:

· Master’s degree, or Doctorate degree as a Nurse Practitioner

· Three years of clinical experience

· Current California RN license

· Current California Nurse Practitioner license

· Current California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing license.

· DEA expected within 6 months of hire.

· National Nurse Practitioner Board Certification thorough accrediting body

· Specialty certification as defined/required for role.

· Current BLS certification through American Heart Association

· Current ACLS certification through American Heart Association
