This position is part of City of Hope’s Philanthropy Pipeline Strategy team within the Office of Philanthropy, and reports to the Senior Executive Director of Prospect Development. This position will work closely with colleagues on the Prospect Development and Pipeline Strategy teams, within Philanthropy as a whole and, as appropriate, with the broader City of Hope community as we seek philanthropic support to fulfill City of Hope’s bold mission.
As a successful candidate, you will:
- The Senior Director of Prospect Development leads the overall team responsible for supporting the Transformational Giving team and is responsible for overseeing and managing one or more teams of staff who provide prospect research and prospect management support to the Office of Philanthropy at City of Hope. Working within the Strategic Partnership Agreement framework, the Senior Director acts as a Strategic Partner to the vice presidents of Transformational Giving and collaborates to identify and drive alignment on strategic prospect development-related priorities for those two departments.
- Through prospect management, research, actionable intelligence, identification, tracking, data acquisition, strategy-building and analysis, the Senior Director of Prospect Development deepens City of Hope’s institutional knowledge of its prospects by playing a vital role in helping the Office of Philanthropy meet its goals for prospecting, fundraising, engagement, communications, and stewardship.
- In partnership with the Senior Executive Director and other Prospect Development and Philanthropy Information Solutions leadership, the Senior Director of Prospect Development establishes the strategic vision, standards, and goals of the teams reporting up to them and leads the development and implementation of best practices in support of a sophisticated, state-of-the-art prospect research and management shop.
- The Senior Director develops and implements sophisticated, state-of-the-art best practices and ensures the work of their teams is consistently produced, of the highest quality, and meets the philanthropy staff’s needs for strategic planning.
Your qualifications should include:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 5+ years of management experience in prospect development.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $58.00 - $96.86 / hour
