What Your Job Will Be Like:
We are seeking a General Technologist who will be responsible for overseeing parts for tester maintenance, equipment calibration and maintenance, and shop supplies in the Purchased Product Value Stream 3 team.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
- Perform work predominantly in support of science and engineering research, development, and engineering (RD&E) activities
- Collaborate with tester and equipment points of contact to understand business needs and monitor inventory to ensure adequate stock for mission needs.
- Work with vendors to communicate key requirements and resolve quality issues related to technology ordered.
- Assess materials for adherence to mission requirements.
- Prepare reports and recommend solutions to technical problems as required.
- Support explosives inventory management.
- Support Webshippers and be knowledgeable on IP and Diamond stamping processes and requirements.
- Ability to work with Explosives, radiological material, classified, CUI, chemical, etc.
- Evaluate inventory and conduct forecasting activities to ensure customers have adequate stock of shop supplies.
- Be knowledgeable on safety and security requirements and best practices.
- Works on a specific task basis to support technical activities.
Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.

Salary Range:
$70,200 - $135,400
*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require:
- High school diploma plus three years of demonstrated relevant experience
- Experience in a technical/engineering manufacturing or supply chain environment
- Active US DOE Q-Level security clearance required to start
Qualifications We Desire:
- Oracle Inventory and experience working within it to manage inventory, create jobs, and execute a variety of transactions.
- WebShipper and shipping materials including hazardous, classified, OUO, and stamped materials.
- Familiarity with testers, production equipment, and production environments.
- Explosive Inventory System and its requirements and experience working within EIS.
- IP and Diamond stamping processes and requirements.
- Experience working in a fast-paced/schedule driven environment on multiple simultaneous activities.
- Excellent oral communication and technical writing skills, with the ability to develop and present ideas and results in oral and written form.
- Candidate must possess well-developed interpersonal and communication skills; with an ability to work in a diverse team environment as well as an ability to build and manage effective working relationships.
- Experience working in a technical warehouse/logistics/materials/supply chain role.
- Desire to accept the challenge of a role with a diverse portfolio of responsibilities.
About Our Team:
The Purchased Product Value Stream 3 (PPVS3), Org. 07561, oversees industrial engineering, bonded stores, and materials operations that support the Neutron Generator (NG) Enterprise and other NW production partners. PPVS3 works in a high-consequence operational envelope encompassing classified materials, precious metals, closed areas, chemicals, explosives, and radioactive materials. The organization is responsible for assuring the integrity and traceability of weapons material though the logistics supply chain which includes receiving, incoming acceptance, warehousing, inventory management, material movement, and shipping. PPVS3 is also responsible for the design, development, testing, and delivery of Department of Transportation (DOT) compliant packaging solutions and operations engineering as well as the planning for the build of packaging kits and NG disassembly activities. The organization also supervises the planning, coordination, and execution of outbound customer shipments. Finally, the PPVS3 Industrial Engineering team provides visibility and insight for our production partners by leveraging data-driven modeling and analysis solutions to increase operational efficiency, effectiveness, and customer confidence.

Security Clearance:
Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q security clearance to start, or equivalent active security clearance with another U.S. government agency (e.g., DOD). Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants for employment need to be able to maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
