Laboratory Technical Assistant – Surgical Pathology (Part Time)

Hours/Locations: Days/times may vary, ideally looking for candidates who are open to working Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays either 07:00am or 09:00am. May work staggered shift hours (day/evening) and at different locations including but not limited to: Lennar Foundation Cancer Center, Irvine/Seacliff, Huntington Beach to ensure adequate service coverage.
As a successful candidate, you will:
- Assist in surgical gross room including, but not limited to, specimen pick-up, accessioning, labeling, staining and photography of specimens.
- Assist with gross room setup, handling of specimens, and general clean up.
- Receive, properly triages, and accession specimens; prints and collates cassettes.
- Follow previously established protocol for assisting with frozen sections including but not limited to cryomicrotomy.
- Prepare solutions, reagents, and stains according to standard formulas and procedures. Fill specimen containers.
Your qualifications should include:
- High School or equivalent; Experience may substitute for minimum education requirements
- Minimum of 1 year experience in pathology lab work/exposure to clinical laboratory environment and needs

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $22.85 - $34.28 / hour
