Laboratory Technical Assistant – Surgical Pathology (Full-Time)

Hours/Locations: Start time may vary, ideally looking for candidates to start at 07:00am or 09:00am; may work staggered shift hours (day/evening) and at different locations including but not limited to: Lennar Foundation Cancer Center, Irvine/Seacliff, Huntington Beach to ensure adequate service coverage.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Assist in surgical gross room including, but not limited to, specimen pick-up, accessioning, labeling, staining and photography of specimens.
  • Assist with gross room setup, handling of specimens, and general clean up.
  • Receive, properly triages, and accession specimens; prints and collates cassettes.
  • Follow previously established protocol for assisting with frozen sections including but not limited to cryomicrotomy.
  • Prepare solutions, reagents, and stains according to standard formulas and procedures. Fill specimen containers.

Your qualifications should include:

  • High School or equivalent; Experience may substitute for minimum education requirements
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in pathology lab work/exposure to clinical laboratory environment and needs

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $22.85 - $34.28 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
