Job Description

Summary

The Research Technician I will support and perform research studies related to the Sarcoma Patient-derived Tumor Xenograft (PDX)Laboratory. Research techniques will focus on molecular biology (e.g., tissue processing, nucleic acid extraction, tissue culture) and in vivo experiments using PDX models.

Job Duties

  • Prepares and conducts laboratory experiments independently.
  • Maintains necessary inventory of supplies and reagents required for experiments.
  • Maintains lab databases.
  • Documents accurately experiments to ensure that work can be replicated by others.
  • Collects, analyzes, compiles, interprets, and evaluates research results and report progress to PI.
  • Executes a range of basic research techniques thatincludes processing of human and mouse tissues, maintenance of tissue culture, administration of cancer therapies and monitoring of adverse effects in mouse model.
  • Maintains a detail registry of tumor specimens in the PDX laboratory and oversees distribution to keep an adequate supply.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Two years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • One year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Graph-Pad software.
  • Be fluent in verbal and written English
  • Has goal-oriented mindset ,proactive, engaged, and take initiative in all work-related tasks.
