Job Description

Summary

The section of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine is seeking a Research Technician I for Dr. Francesca Polverino's Lab. Technician is sought to support laboratory investigations and perform the routine elements of research work that requires the use of skills, technical and academic knowledge to follow established procedures and record results. They lab is for seeking highly self-motivated individuals to provide research support, technical assistance, and lab organization.

Job Duties

  • Prepares and conducts laboratory research experiments involving the use of western blot, immunostaining, PCR.
  • Collects, compiles, and analyzes data from lung and blood processing.
  • Conducts literature search and summarizes information in an appropriate format for a particular study.
  • Documents results of experiments.
  • Selects, evaluates, and applies techniques used in routine research.
  • Orders laboratory supplies and equipment.
  • Takes care of the lung and blood Biorepository.
  • Takes care of murine and human lung and blood sample processing.
  • Conducts immunostainings and other lab experiments requiring PCR and WB.
  • Learns new lab techniques as required.
  • Procures lung samples from lung surgery and explants.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Two years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • One year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field.
