Job Description
Position OverviewThe Department of Information Technology in the School of Professional Studies at the University of Kansas Edwards Campus invites qualified scholars and professionals with experience in information technology to submit applications that will be reviewed and placed in a pool for consideration for part-time (regular or temporary) lecturer positions. A lecturer teaches an undergraduate or graduate level course and must possess an advanced degree. Lecturers report to the director of the Information Technology Program.
A successful candidate must have appropriate authorization to work in the U.S. before employment begins. Any employment with the University of Kansas is contingent upon satisfactory completion of a background check. Appointments are one semester, renewable and subject to review, funding, and adequate student enrollment.
Job Description
40% - Plans, prepares and presents lectures for one or more undergraduate or graduate courses in information technology based on an approved course syllabus.
40% - Develops and grades assignments, projects and exams.
20% - Supervises course projects and in-class lab sessions, evaluates student work, and provides feedback to students. Maintains office hours as necessary to meet students needs.
Required Qualifications
Earned Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a closely related technical discipline. A Master’s degree in other fields may be considered if combined with two or more years of professional experience directly relevant to the teaching assignment.
At least two years or more practical experience in Information Technology.
Preferred Qualifications
Earned Doctorate in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a closely related technical discipline.
