Hillcrest Hospital’s 4 Main Neuroscience Unit provides medical, neurological and telemetry care to inpatient and observation patients with neurological diseases. As an RN, you will be responsible for direct nursing care, administering medication and treatments, communicating patients’ condition and additional supportive tasks. In this role, you will collaborate closely with a family of dedicated, passionate caregivers and the Stroke Program Coordinator, who directly provides expertise nursing guidance at the bedside. You may also have the opportunity to attend the Cleveland Clinic Practical Management of Stroke conference to enhance your skills as an RN.
A caregiver in this position works from 7:00AM - 7:00PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Provide direct nursing care.
- Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
- Educate patients and their families.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- One year of current Acute Care RN experience OR military RN experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Physical Requirements:
- Full range of body motion for handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination
- Standing and walking for extended periods of time
- Corrected vision and hearing to normal range
- Working under stressful conditions and irregular hours
- Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids
- Medium Work, exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- Physical Demand requirements in excess of those for Light Work
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required
