Job Description
RN Clinical Coordinator, Medical Services, provides clinical care to the students at Sarah Lawrence College under the direction of Nurse Practitioners. This role supports the Nurse Practitioners with the holistic approach the Health & Wellness Center delivers. In addition, the RN Clinical Coordinator ensures seamless operations, and participates actively in outreach programs and health education initiatives.

Essential Duties Summary
Essential Functions
- In collaboration with Nurse Practitioners and under the scope of practice for a Registered Nurse, provide direct clinical care along with manage phone calls and walk-in triage for sick students to assess and refer for medical care. Maintain accurate electronic medical records, documenting clinical interactions and communications.
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, and College departments to facilitate care coordination and referrals to off campus providers during the academic year and summer.
- Manage lab responsibilities per policy and procedures including OSHA compliance, LabCorp interface, and inventory maintenance.
- Manage medical supply inventory, including PPE and laboratory supplies, medications, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Participate in health and wellness outreach programming on campus, including orientation, health fairs, ask a nurse, Peer Health Educator program and other events.
- Review medical health history forms submitted by admitted student’s and update student’s electronic health record. Support compliance manger/front office staff with interpretation of NYS Public Health law 2165 and 2167.
Additional Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the colleagues across Student Life to support campus wellness initiatives.
- Coordinate with off campus medical providers to ensure continuity of care for students.
- Maintain knowledge of federal, state and institutional policies, including OSHA, HIPAA and FERPA, to uphold confidentiality and data privacy standards.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Required Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited school.
- Current and valid New York State RN license.
- Minimum of 5 – 7 years of nursing experience, preferably in emergency, public health, or outpatient settings.
- CPR/BLS for healthcare providers certification
- Proficiency in phlebotomy.
- Experience with electronic medical records and inventory management systems.
Physical and Cognitive Requirements
- Moderately sedentary, involving periods of sitting and computer use.
- Frequent verbal and written communication required.
- Capacity to organize and synthesize detailed information to make clinical determinations.
- Frequent walking/standing/use of medical equipment required.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with MEDICAT software and OSHA guidelines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience in a higher education setting.
