Job Description
SummaryThe Education Division at Saint Xavier University invites applications for a full-time faculty lecturer position in Education. The selected candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the Education Division’s teacher preparation programs. The successful candidate will have expertise in Elementary Education. Additional expertise in Early Childhood Education and/or English as Second Language/Bilingual education is highly desirable.
The Education Division offers a variety of undergraduate majors, graduate programs, and additional endorsements in both face-to-face and online modalities, to meet the various needs of the diverse students it serves.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
· Teach 12 credit hours each semester in education courses related to one’s area of expertise. Courses can be graduate or undergraduate, in-person or on-line.
· Provide service to the Education Division—including curriculum, assessment and accreditation activities—and to the College of Liberal Arts and Education and the University.
Qualifications
· PhD in Education (or closely related field) or EdD preferred, Masters degree in Education or closely related field accepted.
· Evidence of or potential for excellence in university teaching, including use of evidence-based best practices in teaching and learning.
· Teaching experience at the PK-12 and collegiate level.
· Knowledge of state and national teacher education requirements.
